2019 is the year that we are *finally* started our bathroom renovation, and I honestly couldn’t be happier about it. On the surface our bathroom doesn’t actually look that bad; it’s clearly been renovated in the last 10 years, so it’s not an avocado green suite with shag carpet or anything.
HOWEVER. The work was clearly all done by the previous owner, and when I say he did a terrible job, well. Every single tiler who was involved in our kitchen renovation remarked on it. The tiles are all weird sizes, some of the grout is huge, some is thin, the gap between the bath and the tiles is ridiculous, not to mention the bath being cracked.. I honestly could go on.
I’ve been planning (and pinning) for quite a while, thinking up a new design for our bathroom. It’s been fairly difficult to design being such a small space, but I think I’m sold on these plans.
Our plans :
Currently, it’s all tiled, so I’d like to stick with that but only have half a wall of tiles on one wall, opposite the bath. We’re going for simple metro tiles, but I quite like the look of a basket weave design. I am conscious it might end up being a bit head-ache inducing, so we could end up with a normal brick tile instead. On the half wall, I want to go bold with some wallpaper on the top. I love the look of this Leopard wallpaper from Milton and King. It has really beautiful muted blue and pink tones, and it’s graphic without being too much. I’ve always wanted marble honeycomb tiles for the floor, and these Bistro tiles in black marble from Topps Tiles look perfect.
The bathroom suite is all from Victoria Plumbing. I’ve always wanted a freestanding bath, although I’m not actually entirely sure if we can fit one in. I love this one, but I think I need to look for a more traditional designed one to match the sink and toilet too.
For the rest of the space, I’m using my usual method of throwing a whole load of pink, green and gold accessories into the place. I want a large gold mirror on the wallpaper, and this Zara one looks perfect. I also love this Lene Bjerre gold shelf for next to the mirror to hold some bits and bobs. I’ll obviously be throwing a whole load of plants and candles into the mix, too!
